Josephine Macken

BIOGRAPHY

Josephine Macken’s work has been performed by numerous ensembles, including the SCM Wind Symphony, Sydney Composer’s Ensemble and co-founded ensemble Glass Half Phil. Josephine has worked under guidance from Stanhope, Barbeler, Blinkhorn and Smetanin, single-handedly managed and marketed new music events and contributed work to radio broadcasts. She is an experienced flautist and chorister, having performed with the SCM Chamber Choir and directed high school ensembles. She currently teaches in schools, performs in and composes for numerous ensembles and manages events for the Sydney Steinway Piano Gallery in between her studies.
