Show Notes

“I think you reach a stage too where you don’t have to impress anyone, don’t have to be so mindful of what people might say, or think, or criticize, you just do it because you want to and you have to. And if other people like it that’s great and if they don’t well that is not going to stop you… I think a lot of people in middle age do talk about that, and that’s a fantastically freeing thing and I wish somehow I could let young people have that.” – Cathy Applegate

During a short visit to Darwin in June 2016, Peggy Polias was delighted to have a chance to make conversation with Cathy Applegate, Darwin local and composer, GP, cellist and author. This chat took place in Cathy’s home in the northern suburbs; you might be able to hear the occasional dusty 4wd rolling past, or a bush turkey calling, or the bark of Cathy’s or a neighbour’s dog.
